Green named (new players who haven't played a certain amount of hours) pirates have always had less than a normal yellow named pirate.

First of all, it's known that a green named pirate aboard a vessel brings down the amount of PoE that has been plundered.

Second of all, green named pirates get constantly pushed aside. Some players are only rude to them because they have a green name.

Finally, they are usually being guided by the pink names (greeters that are supposed to coordinate the new players through the game and answer any questions new players might ask), who sometimes know less than they actually should to provide the information needed. Because there's no requirements needed to become one, you just type /duty and if you've played a certain amount of hours (or just been on game dock tarting) then you're a greeter.

People create alternative players with green names to mess with the might ring in PvP. So they might have seven green named pirates on-board, but the might ring will most likely be dark blue to another sloop with seven or even six people.

So should new players have green names and less privileges?

On the other hand

Some new players are rather annoying, they don't understand the simple need of a bit of ethics and some just use the "I'm a pirate" excuse everywhere. One who got too much money when they have just started, might get bored of the game, seeing no difficulty in it.

And furthermore, green names define a new pirate, who might need help or assistance and that other players shouldn't get mad while one's getting used to the game, while begging for money etc. And they do have certain privileges like seeing the Greeters of the game.

Lastly, some people like green. Most create alts (alternative players) and have the green name as a disguise if they want to get away. It's a rather effective way to fight PvPs. I've heard Blackeye wrote lots of forum posts complaining about the might ring system of the game, but The Ringers haven't done anything about it.

I think it's a new kind of racism to be honest ;P
